The Return of a Millennial Writer: My Blogging Journey

read

A month ago, I had this strange urge to create a new blog. I’ve always loved writing and back in high school, I used to have my own domain name called twisted-sunshine.org — titled after one of my favorite songs Ever After by Bonnie Bailey — where I made my own layouts, coded my website, and asked my darling mother to pay for the web hosting and all that. Years later, I made wanderinfinitely.net which contained journal entries of my Junior Term Abroad in Europe back in 2014. Then less than a decade ago, I bought ziagrimares.com to write about anything and everything as I was navigating through the highs and lows of law school. All traces of these websites have disappeared completely, as it seems I have some commitment issues with writing religiously.

I am now in my 30s so life has changed a lot since I first dabbled in the WWW. I mean plugins now have to be paid? Haha. And who’s been here since Lissa Explains? How do you think blogging has changed now?

I return as a frustrated writer — I mean do people still even read blogs anymore in 2025? And as a lawyer who tries to make sense of things by writing about them. I plan to write about the things I love, my travels, my fitness journey and my work, some of the things that spark joy in my life. Also bits and pieces of random sentiments and trying to make sense of my overthinking.

If you made it this far, thank you for reading. As a millennial with perhaps an old soul, I couldn’t seem to picture myself making vlogs/reels and subjecting myself in front of a camera for frequent public consumption. As much as I like documenting things through photos/videos, I feel I best express myself or who I am through writing. So here we are.

Hope this new project of mine is something I can sustain.

Best,

Z 🦋
